Hi,

I upgraded my graphics card from EVGA 256-P2-N751-TR GeForce 8600 GT 256MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 SLI Support Video Card to an ATI Radeon HD 5800 Series card.

For the first year using the ATI Radeon I had problems keeping it working. Because of this I would switch between the ATI Radeon and the old GeForce cards during this time.

I’ve been problem free for about a year now so I just recently removed the GeForce drivers thinking it would save some RAM use.

However, ever since I did this I lost all Microsoft Aero graphic display? And Windows Media Player will only display an image when playing any and all video files. (This is only with Windows Media Player).

Why would this happen, they are two different cards and drivers? And the ATI Radeon 5800 is a high end graphics card.

And of course how do I correct this situation?

Would a re-install be enough to get Arial graphics back? Or is there something more happening here?

Any advice would be grateful,

John

PS I apologize, I didn't see my original post posted so I made this second post. There are now 2 post with the same content and I haven't figured out how to delete my own posts yet.

If you could let me know how to delete unwanted posts I submitted I would appreciate it. Thanks.
