hello guys,this is a great thread to follow for such a notorious problem that many are still having.i recently opened a topic regarding the same issue but this time it's on a Asus Radeon HD7970 DC2. i have a Silverstone ST75F-G Evolution PSU (750W) and a single 7970.i'm torn between what could be the real cause and started to regret my GPU choice especially that neither AMD nor Asus are addressing this issue officially.i will try some of the solutions posted here with great appreciation for all of your efforts trying to figure out a solution.which ever works for me i'll post it here.kind regards,
based on some users reports of similar experience i have de-clocked the card:
- Engine Clock from 925MHz to 900MHz
- Memory Clock from 1375MHz to 1200MHz
it seems only at these rates the card was able to maintain stability. since then i didn't experience any black or striped screens even on heavy load. if i increased these values the failure will regenerate at an early stage of a game.
i might go through tweaking the clocks incrementally to discover at what exact value the failure will regenerate.
i updated my topic wiching to know what is the impact on performance and whether i should accept it as it is or i should RMA.
