Hello, fellow AMD users.
Earlier this year I bought an Radeon HD 6770 (PowerColor) and everything went fine up to a certain point, where my card began having troubles.
Whenever I play a game which actually is demanding, my GFX Card crashes after 5-60 minutes of gaming. F.E: Skyrim, League of Legends, Left 4 Dead 2...
Well anyways, since friday I have a new system consisting of:
ASRock 960GM/U3S3 FX
16 GB DDR-1333 G.Skill RipjawsX
AMD FX-8320
Ati Radeon HD 6770 PowerColor
and an on-board Ati Radeon 3000
An 550W PSU (Which I extra bought for that GFX Card)
I installed Windows 7 Ultimate and the drivers for both GFX-Cards, because I use 2 monitors. (Both are connected to one GFX-Card via D-Sub).
Installed Drivers:
12-6-legacy_vista_win7_64_dd_ccc_whql
12-10_vista_win7_win8_64_dd_ccc_whql_net4
I am not overclocking any of my components, I guess I dont. I use the default settings in my bios.
Up until today (3 days in a row) everything went fine. I had the best gaming experience for a long time and today the error that had tormented me for a few months after buying this GFX finally showed up again. While I was playing League of Legends (Everythings maxed out/Shadows disabled) my screen turned yellow, vertically striped for 2 seconds. This usually shows that my computer was about to crash and right now I am extremely unhappy.
This crash freezes my computer, although the sound works for a few seconds until it too freezes. After that I can only hard reset my computer.
Once I restart my system I can play all day long as I please without crashing again...
Noteworthy things I noticed: Yesterday Windows 7 installed a lot of updates after I shut my computer down. Could this be a problem with Win7?
If you need more information, tell me. I finally want to game in peace...
[Edit1]: Temperature is no problem. I have been running Skyrim on Ultra just a few seconds ago. ~60°C all the time, even while spaming the big spells in fights.
[Edit2]: Im seriously disappointed right now. I have been playing League of Legends again, when my computer crashed, out of the blue. There was no overheating issue or something else. Just showed me those stripes again. I am totally disappointed now, because there are so many people out there, that seem to have the issue, but neither were they able to fix it, or they just didnt reply one last time how to fix this issue. Im losing my trust in AMD right now. I check these forums almost every hour to see if anybody can help me...
Maybe I should really go for NVidia next time.
