Hi,

I am currently in the market for a new Graphics card and monitor and at least for the graphics card, I think I am settled on purchase of an AMD 7870. However, when I was having a look at the supported resolutions, I noted that it supports the following resolutions and aspect ratios on different ports:

Display port - 4096x2160 (265:135) This is slightly wider than 16:9

HDMI - 4096x2160

DVI - 2560x1600 (16:10)

VGA - 2048x1536 (4:3)

My question comes from wanting to buy a monitor. I was hoping to purchase a 19" screen that came in the 16:9 aspect ratio. If I were to buy this card, would I be able to support 16:9 screens in their native resolution and maintain image quality, or would I have stretching of images on the screen.

Hope someone can answer my question,

Regards,

V

When you plug it in the laptop should auto configure itself for the monitor's native resolution.  You should not have an issue as long as the monitor's resolution is not greater than what it can support.
