I have an issue with HIS Radeon HD 6970 2GB GDDR5 it keeps "overheating" or atleast i think it is (temperatures in the 90+ to 102 degrees celcius range)

So what im wondering what are the "normal" operating temperatures for these cards ? idle and full load ?

Side note: The game ive had the highest temperature in is EVE online with everything maxed.

This problem is solved.

the highest mine has ever reached is 80c. I have a preset (gaming) for manual fan control  set at 55% and 4 case fans. Blow the dust out of your case and card...and turn up the fan speed.

I will open the case up and do a cleaning job and get back to you. (Mine was at 90 degrees when the fan was at 100%).

I usually have the computer cleaned once every month, but i never did check the fan on the GPU that i will do later today.

Thanks for the quick reply.

how many case fans do you have? Each of my case fans have a in-line switch (low-med-high)...not too high tech but it works great. Noise is not a problem since rock-and-roll left me about half deaf

Dude thanks i couldnt wait i had to take the GPU out and check it, and YEAH damn it was full of dust it was so bad i had to use a screwdriver to take it away. (I have 2x 120mm fans on the side and the case should have a pretty good airflow) The idle temp went from 90 to 50-60 when i took the dust out

Thanks again man helped alot !

Scrounge around (or order) some case filters or filter material. It won't stop all the dust but it sure helps.
