Hello,I have a V5900 in a brand new computer build, and only 2 of the outputs work at any given time.  I can use any combination, 2 dps, or 1 dp 1 dvi....either way it only outputs 2 at a time.  I have a 3 monitor setup, and this is causing issues.  All of my monitors use DVI inputs, so I'm using adapters for the dps.I thought the problem might be that I needed an active display adapter, but after buying one the passive adapter still works and the active isn't.  Please help!Intel i3793kAsrock x79 Extreme 6 LGA 2011 Motherboard32gb G. Make sure to be using VISTA, Win7 or Win8.  Under WindowsXP, only 2 displays max.

Can you confirm the brand and model of the DP-to-DVI adapters.  I understand that you have 3 monitors with DVI inputs, so this is what you should be doing (and it sounds like you are):

- 1 monitor connected directly off DVI port with DVI cable
- 1 monitor connected off a DP port with DP-to-DVI adapter, and DVI cable (can be passive)
- 1 monitor conneced off a DP port with DP-to-DVI adapter, and DVI cable(must be active)

All this is correct.  One is a Dell passive adapter.  One is a Kingwin Active adapter.

Is the Active Adapter defective?  If the display using it is the only display physically connected, does it work okay?

What is the Part # of the Kingwin Adapter?

Consider purchasing an active adapter from AMD's certified list: http://support.amd.com/us/eyefinity/Pages/eyefinity-dongles.aspx

Kingwin DP-3 DisplayPort to DVI-D Adapter-Active

http://www.ebay.com/itm/170964702256?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

When I have everything unplugged and then plug in the kingwin, I hear the computer make a noise recognizing something was plugged in, but no video. If I plug in the other adapter and/or the dvi, I hear the same noise but get video.   I do not have anything I can test to see if this active adapter is working or not.

I think you already have answered your own problem!  As you say, when you connect a monitor using the Kingwin ActiveDP-to-DVI adapter, you get no display!

So you either have a bad monitor, bad DVI cable, OR a bad adapter!  I would put my money on the adapter.
