Hello all, hoping for a little insight here from some more experienced users.

I have a 7970.  I have three monitors hooked up through 2xDVI and one Displayport for an eyefinity setup.  I also have my tv hooked up via HDMI, though it goes from my video card to my receiver, then to my tv.

My problem when starting windows my monitors do not turn on unless my tv is on and my receiver is set to the hdmi port the pc is on.  Also while playing is any of these are shut off, my monitors too turn off.

I had this problem before with my 6870 but after a few days it went away on its own.  Ive given this some time but it wont stop happening, and I cant find any settings that would cause this annoying behaviour.

Any ideas?

I'm really surprised noone else has this problem. 

Your setup is not common, and that fact alone would make it unlikely to encounter someone with the same problem.

I have to assume, since you didn't provide any details, that you have a non-reference card with two DVI, one HDMI, and one DP connectors.

You can only use two out of the first three at the same time.  Normally, you'd be able to choose which one to disable, but I'd guess that the unpowered HDMI connection leaves the card and/or the driver stuck waiting for information.

Best suggestion I can make is to give feedback on the drivers to AMD.
