Hi. So I got this video card about a year ago, and had problems updating the driver, but it worked fine so I left it alone. Now I've had to do a wipe and reboot on my PC and I'm having the same problem, onyl now games won't even boot up. 

The problem is that Catalyst, or rather my computer, doesnt even recognize the video card is installed. It keeps reverting to the old crappy NVidia, even though I've uninstalled it countless times and searched and deleted anything to do with the old video card.

I'm on an HP operating Windows Vista 32b Service Pack 2.

What's the old nVidia card?  Is it physically installed in the computer still? What motherboard do you have?

To clarify, you have done a complete harddrive re-format and clean install of Windows VISTA 32-bit with SP2, or did you use an HP System Restore Disk?

What specific HP system do you have?

How do you kow the system just keeps recognizing only the nVidia card?  Where are you reading that? Device Manager?
