Hi Recently the end came off of my HDMI cable. Im talking about the small gold coloured metal clip on the end of the HDMI cable.

Ever since that happened i have had check cable messages and when i turn off the computer the monitor no longer turns off it just displays the check cord message.

I have purchased 2 new HDMI cables with the same errect.

I am running windows 7 with the 7900 HD card but i never had this issue before the tip came off.

I have 2 monitors and it dones the same on both except the on i want to use is a 3d samsung monitor that wont turn back on after the computer has been turned off.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Did the end of the cable break off while plugged into the cards output ? Could the HDMI output on the card be damaged ?

Have you tried using another output option to verify the HDMI is the problem ?
