I bought a Radeon HD 7850 and it wouldnt power up at all after installation. The fans wont spin or anything.  Ive discovered a 6 pin auxillary connector to the card also. Do i need this connection for the card to work?  I wasnt aware that an auxillary power supply was needed.  I have a 550 psu so i thought i was good.  The psu i have has no auxillary 6 pin connector to plug into this card.  I saw an adapter with 2 four pin females and 1 six pin male on a few computer sites.  Will that item cure this problem?

Any help on this would be appreciated.

Hi yes you need the 6 pin connection to make the card work. Also you said a 550 psu what 550 psu is it who made it and the model number.

Yes, that adapter is provided for this very reason, in case your PSU has no such connector. Use it and it'll work.

Your card requires this external power source because it needs more than the 75W the PCIe port can provide.
