i've had this issue since i recently installed Windows on my shiny new 256GB Samsung 840 ProSeries SSD.

my main monitor which is 22" in size is my primary monitor and i have a 19" monitor which is my secondary monitor where i have temp monitoring apps and social media apps. now i have set up an extended desktop and it's working. though there is a problem. my main monitor is detected as monitor 2 and my secondary monitor is detected as monitor 1. i have tried changing them around by making my primary monitor number 1 and my secondary monitor number 2. but when i do that the displays switch and the task bar moves from my main 22" monitor to my secondary 19" monitor and the resolution gets all out of whack, which i don't want.

at first i thought i had plugged them into the wrong ports but i swapped them around the same problem occurs.

i have also tried uninstalling the drivers and completely removing any remnants of them in safemode with driver sweeper. but the problem still remains.

i don't know what else to try.

my specs are:

Core i7-860
Gigabyte P55A-UD5
Patriot G2 8GB DDR3-1600 @9-9-9-24

That's a non-problem.  You can adjust their positions by dragging the monitors around under "Creating and Arranging Desktops" in CCC.  The numeric label is irrelevant outside of that context.

Right click on one of the monitors and select "Identify All".  That's why.
