Hello everyone.  My friend gave me his old graphics card, an ASUS ATI 5670.  It had 3 ports.  One DVI, one HDMI and one VGA.  I assumed it would run 3 monitors because it has those 3 ports.  To my demise it only runs two.  Can I install my other graphics card, a Sapphire ATI HD4830 along side the ASUS one and run up to 4 monitors?  My tower does have an extra PCI Express 2.0 slot.  I'm not that interested in gaming, I just want the extra displays for multitasking.  Thanks!

You need to use a displayport to run 3rd (and up) monitors on the same gpu, this multi gpu solution wouldn't work in gaming ,but as a workspace it should work in theory if you can find a driver that accepts them both. Usually it is done with two or more identical FirePro cards to get the maximum amount of outputs.

To add to what zipsi has said, you must be cautious of the driver you install.  The HD5000 series and HD4000 series do not use the same driver any more.  When running two video cards in a system you need to ensure they utilize the same driver.  That's why you can't run an AMD and nVidia card together, or a FirePRO and Radeon card. Different drivers. 

What Operating System are you using?  It is quite possible you can get this going, because there was a point when both HD5000 and HD4000 series products used the same driver.
