System has ATI Radeon HD 4300/4500 Series card with Driver version 8.911.0.0

I assume the card has fried or the VGA port is dead. However, if either are the case why is the secondary monitor working? Of course, it might also be the primary monitor.

How do you suggest I proceed before investing any $$$s?
