Dear AMD Forum ,

I have big problems with my ATI RADEON HD 5970.
Ok the Graka works fine so far .
System boots and i can work on Dektop ( checking mails , facebook , youtube etc. ) .
But as far as wanted to start a game the system crashes after a short period of time . ( somtimes after 1 minute .. up to 15 ). Screen turns black and i cant get back to Desktop / Task mangager . So i need to turn the power off .

The temps are totally fine .
Then i tried a different graka ( nvidia gts 450 palit ) and everything works fine .

But i want my hd 5970 to work cuz its alot better then the gts 450 .

my setup is :

Alienware Area 51
Intel Core i7-920 CPU
HD 5970
Alienware J560m ( i think it is )
Alienware 1100 W PSU
12 GB RAM
Windows 7 Ultimate x64

What drivers are you using......did you completely remove the old drivers and use a driver cleaner like Driver Fusion before installing the new driver?  What are your temps like when you are gaming?

Your PSU actually states on the PSU sticker that it is an Alienware PSU?
