Hi, I need to replace my video card and don't know what is compatible?  Would an ATI Radeon HD6450 card be compatible?  My current one is an ATI Radeon 2400HD Pro video card.  During game play, after about 5 or 10 minutes, the whole computer just shuts down.  I was going to replace the fan on the card, but am seeing it's about the same price to replace the whole card.  This computer has Windows Vista... and is about 5 years old I guess. 

Any help would be appreciated.  I can't seem to find where to go to find what video card to replace mine with.

How are we going to suggest something if you don't give out any information. 

Need to know what motherboard you have, what PSU you have, and what CPU you have and your budget.

Also what you plan on doing with it. IE games? Webbrowsing? Ect..

Well I thought someone would know if your system takes one kind of card, if it would take another (the 6450 instead of the 2400).  I have a Dell Inspiron 530S and the processor is an Intel Core 2 Duo CPU E4600 @ 2.4GHz (2 CPUs), using Vista. 

My kids and I use the computer to surf the internet and to play online games (like games on FB and also games from various game sites like gamehouse.com or bigfishgames.com).  Nothing major, yet sometimes my middle son uses my computer to play games on Steam and more complicated online games like DC Universe and World of Warcraft.   

I don't want to spend very much, as I am thinking of replacing this computer over the Summer, but just want another video card so it doesn't just shut down... just to get us through until we buy a new computer.  I was hoping for something $60 or under.  Just hoping. 

I didn't know what would be compatible so thought I would post on the forum for my video card, hoping someone on here would be more of an expert on all things ATI/AMD.

Ok, according to online resources that dell came in two form factors a slim chassis, and a tower chassis. 

Now I'm sure the system is stock. Which limits what you can put into the chassis as a 25W video card. 

So a 6450 should be fine (28ish watt TDP)

I just can't imagine playing world of warcraft with a 6450.  ( I play the game as well)

But all in all a 6450 is a few times more powerful then a 2400.

(the only reason I posted the asus one is because it comes with a low profile bracket. You can obviously pick whichever manufacturer you want yourself. I just know this one will work with either chassis of dell you have. And also asus doens't make bad products :-) )
