Hey guys, I thought there were not going to be updates for HD 4000 series cards, but AMD pleasantly surprised with an update a few days ago. I am on Windows 8, so it was great, since previous version didnt play well with Win 8.

After installing the drivers I noticed a strange issue. When playing Guild Wars 2, the fan will speed up/slow down every few seconds... idling on desktop the fan is slow (and consistent speed), but when playing the game it speeds up for about 3 seconds then slows down for 3 seconds or so, then speeds up for 3 seconds etc etc like that forever...

My GPU temps are steady at 80-81 (those are peaks as well), and rest of the PC is running as cool as it should.

This is definitelly a new issue with these latest drivers being installed... I dont want the fans to die, plus its annoying hearing it speed up then slow down, speed up then slow down etc...

Has anyone experienced this before? Any tips on how to resolve it?

can you please explain?

I have an ASUS motherboard.  Would the MSI tool still work? Is there a guide on how to define the curve?

Is this an issue that happens a lot?
