I desperately need some help, i have been having trouble updating my graphics card since i got this pc, every time i downloaded and installed it still showed as being updated in 2011.

So i then read (and checked out the AMD videos) that suggested uninstalling the current driver, restarting PC (as prompted) and then install the latest driver which i downloaded just before uninstalling.

However after installing the new driver my graphics card is now called Standard VGA Graphics Adapter with a driver date of 13/07/2009.

I am completely stuck on what to do as when i go to device manager the option to revert is greyed out so now im stuck like this.

The graphics card i have is a HD7000 series

Update - also might be worth saying that when i use the amd auto detect driver it fails to detect (this would always happen before todays issue) "we are unable to find your product or OS"

Tried the above steps with no luck, still saying its a VGA.

Ok i have just got off a web chat with ACER.

I thought it best to post my results so others who have this issue can find a way to at least roll back.

ACER has inbuilt software, i was told to go Start, All programs, Acer, Acer eRecovery Management, select restore, select reinstall drivers or applications. then select the AMD VGA option, after install and reboot i am back to the driver i had this morning.

However i am still left with the issue that when i really really need to update my graphics driver i will be unable to as since i got this PC i cannot update by just installing the new driver over the existing one, but if i try to uninstall the current driver, reboot, then install the new driver the above issue happens.

Can anymore shed any light on how to get the 13.1 driver update without having to uninstall the current driver?

Please also note that if i try to install the update over the current driver version i do not get any errors etc, all that happens is it says its installed but when i reboot and go onto the driver date it is still from years ago.
