what i am going to try to hold me over is i deff have a good cpu, the move to FLA didnt help as it is hotter here so i had to back down to 3.8 3.9 since ive been here. plus i also had central air plus my own wall ac unit in my old office where it was a constant 68 degrees F. i got two 120mm fans by corsair the hydro ones @ 2500 rpms as oppose to my current 1500 rpm ones. see if that will bring me a lil lower as my oc is limited by my temps. if i can get my cpu to a 4.2- 4.3 i should pick up the slack a lil. I am not going to turn this thread into a green vs red but i had a i7 rig a 920 that i had @ 3.8 with a x58 n a gtx 470. Nvidia/intel lost me as customer due to money vs performance ratio. I can build a powerhouse rig for hundreds less that usually is only out performed by synthetic benches. I dont like payin and extra 2 to 3 hung cpu and hung gpu for syns n a 5 to 7 fps difference (in some cases more if the CPU is more dependant, Like here) thats just me. Thats around 400 more on average i could use for a gpu or other componants. Heck ive been wit nvidia/ amd back in the day when they were friends n recently moved to AMD at the release of the 5xxx series and up after the takeover of ATI bc i like the idea of a platform. but other posters are right GE the only way we will see a 10 n in some cases 15 fps increase during CPU dependant apps, clock for clock is going intel bro. I deff fiddled wit thannys theory n it proves true. I have similar comps n they prove the same numbers when u factor the difference in other hardware on board and calculate the changes. We r deff CPU limtied with any last/ current gen AMD cpu. and the gain going to a a FX 83xx, for me its CPU n new MOBO as my current is a AM3 board not AM3+, is just not worth it. Even gong another 79xx card for me n 78xx for u isnt worth it GE as it will only increase the bottleneck even more in certain cases.
