sorry for not using your "issue form" but there is not enough room to clearly explain whole problem.

I’ll try it in points:

Card: HD 6690 x2 (my own), HD 4870 x2 and HD 5850 (my wife’s and my brother’s)
System: W7 x64 (in all three cases)
Issue: No antialiasing at all (cannot be set ingame nor forced by catalyst -simply no visible difference). It feels like if I set AA to max (ingame), the FPS drops down but with no effect on AA (shapes are "jagged").

Tried on: 12.9, 13.1 and 13.2 beta 7
Tested on: Crysis 3, Tombraider, Left 4 dead 2, Mass Effect 3, TES V Skyrim (I am sure that in L4D2 and ME3 has worked forcing AA sometimes before - I do not remember catalyst and driver version).

I was near to completely reinstall OS, but when I’ve found that this issue is not only mine, I’ve started googling but without any luck (some people are facing similar issue too, but there was no aswer going to solution).

Oh, and AF, MF and so on is not working too (forcing them). It seems like catalyst rules no more to my 6990.

Anyone else with something similar with AA? Solution?

I think it is irrelevant to post any screenshot. It IS AA. And I mean really AA, not AF. Simply – the objects (not textures or alpha canals) have jagged edges (not smooth as with any AA). If you know how AA looks, you do not need any screenshots then.

Now I am trying upgrade my wife’s PC (with 5850) to win 8 Pro x64. It will bring answer to the question of "is it an w7 (and actual catalysts) issue?".

If the problem persists, I’ll buy another non-amd graphics card (after 10 years).

So, the problem persist on clean w8 with 13.1 cats too. Why should I buy an ultimate graphic card when I am not able to use its power and skills? Aaaa!

There is really nobody with similar problem? I have three PCs with no possibility to force AA (or force anything, or just reflect setup of the game options) with ATI cards! Am I alone?

 

I know what AA is, but I can't be sure you do.  There's no general problem with AA in the driver version you're using.  It's always been the case that you can't force AA via the driver in some games (true for both AMD and nVidia), but you're saying it doesn't work in any game, even with in-game settings.  I've never seen that claim before, which is why I wanted screenshots to verify you weren't making a mistake.

All I can say is that AA works fine in Tomb Raider, Left 4 Dead 2, Skyrim, and Mass Effect 3 with Catalyst 13.1 on Windows 7 x64, though the last works only with forced AA, and not with the in-game setting. 

 

I have forced SSAA on Mass Effect 2, Adaptive MSAA on DOOM 3, MSAA on Deus Ex 1, and use in-game AA for others with spectacular results on my single XFX Radeon HD 6770 and has for the last 3 WHQL CCC drivers.

Please post system specs and dxdiag in spoiler tags. Most importantly, what is your PSU brand, model, and wattage?

And screenshots are very relevant if you want help.

Exactly. I remember that ME3 has worked fine until 12.8. Only through forced AA, of course.

The sad thing is that now anything cannot be forced in any game where it was surely worked before. Nor AF, MF, vertical sync...

And trust me, I know very precisely what AA is, but for your peace I will upload some screenshots lately (now I am too busy for playing and screenshooting )

Edit: For now it looks like SW collision, but I do not get it - why on three independent PCs? 

Mutual SW is:

- W7 x64 (all 3 PCs)
- ESET smart security 6 (all 3 PCs)
- PC tunning utilities (Tune Up 2012 on mine and my wife’s PC and some auslogic pc tune up on brothers PC)

Other similar SW is impactless (like MS Office, Steam etc.). But hey, on clean instalation of W8 and just installing catalysts 13.1, the 5800 is not doing AA as well. I am going to kill myself

Both games are AMD friendly.

Grabbed a copy of Sleeping Dogs (figure I'll want to play it some day), and discovered that you actually can't turn AA off.  It's FXAA, or FXAA plus two different levels of SSAA.  All three work, with the expected performance hit with SSAA.

It's a little hard to see clearly with your screenshot, since you've used pretty lossy JPEG compression, but it appears you have FXAA by itself enabled and working.

I haven't played Crysis 3 yet (haven't gotten around to Crysis 2, in fact), but it does look like AA isn't working in that screenshot.  When I get a chance to run the game and check AA here, I'll post another response.

Ee, there is not any antialiasing (nor FXAA). Today I have tried non-AMD GPU and... Every AA method is working just by setting it ingame!! Forcing it works too.

This means that my OS and drivers are all right. But what I am not able to understand is why AA does not work on other computers with other AMD GPUs. 

I need to find any solution (like Caesar63 above - my condolences, by the way ).

Why should I to go and buy an expensive GPU if there is any element like AA, AF etc. (which is crucial in case of such of a GPU) not working? I do not want any other GPU (yet).

I wrote to AMD support (via their e-mail ticket) so I wait and tell you later.

After 1 week from telling AMD about my issue (through ISSUE REPORTING FORM) still nothing happens. Waiting further.

Hope it is not like with nvidia and another issue on other PC - after three months still nothing

I play Skyrim. AA works fine on my 7950 with 13.1, And crysis 1 2 3 , LFD 2 , and ME3. 

I also have 5770's , 5870's , and 4870's. All AA works perfectly fine in skyrim. Crysis. I don't have LFD2 or ME 3/ TR on those systems though. 

God I need to ebay some of this stuff >.> I'm such a horder. (Also that Jpeg you uploaded is a joke, if you want us to be able to take a look and actually see we need a photo in game that isn't useing compression so upload a download file somewhere and I'll take a look and see if I can reproduce this assuming your SS looks different then mine)
