I recently purchased an HP Envy tower PC running Win 8. Graphics card is Radeon 7570 1GB DDR3 FH GFX. Current driver is 9.12.2.3000 and dated 2/19/13. I have two monitors, both fairly new Viewsonics. Using the DVI monitor solo was fine but when I plugged in the HDMI monitor both monitors went blank. At that point I actually have to do a hard shutdown. Cannot use HDMI solo. HP came out to replace card. Nothing. HP just came back this morning to replace motherboard. Same problem. HP is now suggesting to ship the tower back for bench testing. I now believe that the problem may be the Radeon driver working with Win 8. Anyone experiencing a similar issue or have a suggestion for me?? Thanks in advance!PinehurstKen

A computer completely locking up from hooking up two monitors? Never had that issue in 16 years. Send it back to HP.

If the driver was installed improperly or with errors @ HP. You can download the AMD W8 drivers and see if they fix your issue. If they do not. Ship it back to HP.

Vantharas - thanks for the advice. I did talk to AMD support and the answer is that the Radeon HD 7570 card I get with my HP PC is an OEM solution and therefore not supported by AMD. AMD does not even make the card - I guess just supplies the graphics chip and baseline driver. HP is resp. for fleshing out and supporting the driver. AMD even told me to uninstall the Catalyst software that was on the hard drive.I am shipping the PC back to HP for repair or replacement.
