Graphics Card

-Driver Packaging version: 9.012-121219a-154961C-ATI

Issue Details
Basically, this card is showing no performance improvements over my Radeon HD 6770 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150560).  Games show the same FPS numbers even though, by all accounts, this Radeon HD 7870 should perform considerably better.

-G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL

Additional Hardware
-SoundBlaster Recon 3D audio card

Additional Details
I'm not sure why the performance isn't as good as expected.  I get picture with no artifacts, so I don't think there are any loose connections/improperly installed hardware.  It's just that I get absolutely no improvements in FPS, when I most certainly should.  The cards aren't even really comparable in power.  Any ideas?

Alrighty, I'll give it a shot.  Any idea what numbers/results I should be expecting to ensure everything is fine?

In 3Dmark11 you should be getting a graphics score around 7500 with your 7870 and FX 4170.

I also looked up your old 6770 and people were only getting a graphics score of 2600 with the same cpu, just to give you a idea

Oh God I'm such a moron.  All the games I had tried it out on so far were only maxing 60 FPS because vertical sync was on, and I only just now realized it.   I've tried it on other games now that I don't use vsync on and there's a huge improvement.  Sorry for wasting your time >_<
