I recently upgraded to a 7790 grahpics 1GB graphics card and everything looked as it should until I installed the drivers. When I did the screen had this irregular rainbow effect with regularly spaced vertical lines while in Windows 7 Enterprise. I was wondering if this was a common issue with a common problem or not?

My mobo has a PCI-e 2.0 slot.

I have 4gigs of ram.

I upgraded from a 5670.

Sorry for the incomplete specs but I am at work now and I built the computer some time ago.

Any ideas might be helpful

Thanks in advance.

Not normal. It must be a faulty card. Get it replaced.

1. Processor: AMD Athlon II x4 630 2800 Mhz

2. Graphics card: MSI Radeon HD 7790 1GB "Afterburner" OC Edition

3. OS: Windows 7 Enterprise, x64
4. Driver version: 12.101.2.1
5. Power Supply: BFGR550WGXPSU
6. RAM: 4gig Corsair
7. Did your computer come with the OS and Graphics card you have now?

The computer is homebrew and the OS was put on after it was built, but they have been the same since I bought it.

8. Monitor: HDMI 1920 x 1080, its an Acer H243H

Mobo: Asus M4A77TD

I just reinstalled my 5670 and installed 13.4 drivers and it did it again. If I disable the drivers my display looks fine, but if I enable them the rainbow effect returns. So I have my 5670 in and I reverted my drivers to 11.1 and it seems to work.
