I have downloaded the new driver multiple times and something keeps rolling it back to the last driver. I run the autodetect and it tells me that it needs to update but it won't let me. I am running on Windows 8. Please help!

I confused about posting in a game forum because it isn't a game issue. I have an HP Envy that I had built. It is an AMD 6 core 3.9 processor, HD Radeon 7950 3 gig, 12 gig RAM, Windows 8 64 bit, HP W2371d monitor with 1920 by 1080, standard HP power supply, latest BIOS update, and the problem is that now it shows that I have the 12.104 driver but my screen when coming out of sleep mode is just grey. I have to hit power button twice to reboot the system. It doesn't come up with the windows didn't shut down properly thing though. Should I just roll back the driver and forget it? I thought this was an issue that was resolved with the new Catalyst driver?

You are posting on the game forum now, why are you confused?

Did you have an issue while on the previous driver?  Typically it is best to stay where you are unless you have a specific issue that is addressed with the driver you are installing.  Also, it is a good idea when updating drivers to make sure that you have uninstalled the previous driver and then run a driver cleaner program such as Driver Fusion to make sure that there is nothing remaining from the old driver that may conflict with the new driver.  AMD graphics drivers don't uninstall completly durning the uninstall.

Cheers!!
