I put together my new PC and used it the last couple days for light tasks.  Then I installed the HD7970 and everything's pretty much gone to hell since then.  Though with all the Windows updates, etc. going on I can't definitively blame AMD.

I haven't tried any OC on the CPU nor GPU.

It used to look okay.  Now there are artifacts even on the "Starting Windows" animation: some of what I thought were black colors are replaced by red so it looks a bit like an animated relief map.  The Windows desktop itself is completely staired too (except for the 4-pane windows graphic in the center?) - see the attached screenshot... okay, your website only gives errors when trying to upload files, so I can't show it to you...  After another couple reboots, there is color subtitution AND stairs within the 4-pane part of the default Win background as 2nd monitor!

I downloaded and installed the newest stable release, Catalyst 13.4, rebooted a couple times with no visible improvement.

In fact, if I go to the awards page (http://www.amd4u.com/radeonrewards/) the burgundy is actively smearing with the black, so this static image is animated - makes it look like old, nasty CRT artifacts.  Turns out the dark red is supposed to be another shade of black.

BTW, colors, etc. all still look good on the embedded Intel graphics when I hook up a second monitor to it - at least at 1080p (maximum setting it says it supports).  If I CustomModeApp 1440p@30Hz, the background has the same stairs effect on the default Win desktop graphic - but NOT the color substitution/"animation" on the radeonrewards webpage.

Thanks....

Monitor: Dell U2713HM - identified through SW as having 16-bit color.  The only other option is 32-bit color, and if I try that I get the color replacement within window title bars - several light-blue lines.

Using DVI-D connector to left connector next to the HDMI connector.
