i have compiled a computer to me 4 months ago

Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
16 Gb G.Skill Ram
HD 7970 GHz Edition Gigabyte
MSI Z77A-GD65 Gaming
i5 3570K
Corsair SSD
and a Be.Quiet 630Watt.

I had initially ca.4500 pts in 3D Mark 11, after a few adjustments and a driver change between beta and final beta again. And settings in the bios that were actually everything to default. I

The map much better, but it is already the end?

Funny in 3D Mark Vantage I 24000 pts

Could it possibly be due to DirectX. Vantage is 10 ^ ^

It's because 3DMark is complete garbage as far as a benchmarking program goes. Compare your FPS in games.

The first result is indeed quite low, but the second seems pretty well in line with what one would expect for a single 7970 with that processor (presumably at stock clocks).

The one result I can find for my two 7970's with a 3930K at 4.5GHz is P16755, broken down into 18692/14562/10804 for Graphics, Physics, and Combined.  I don't know for sure, but I believe the 7970's were at 1100/1450 at the time.

Your graphics score of 9266 is pretty close to half of my 18692, especially given that they were almost certainly not done with the same driver version.

My Vantage score with the same setup (I have benchmark screenshots from the same day) was P55648, with a 60585/44717 GPU/CPU breakdown.  Your 25829 is a bit further from half my 60585, but that could easily be due to CPU dependency in the benchmark.  Vantage is orders of magnitude better than 3DMark06, which is heavily CPU bound at all settings, but it's still more influenced by CPU than 3DMark11 is.
