Well I'll never know what drivers and codecs I had in my previous Windows 7. I didn't back up anything.
I have VLC 2.1
I have CCCP Codec, set it to surround 5.1 and still VLC does not show options.
I have tried all the config settings from the VLC forums and still no options.
It would normally say under audio device: Stereo, Mono, 5.1, 7.1 now it just says LG TV
Nothing has ever changed besides reinstalling the OS, all the hardware and connections are the same.
I have 7950s in Crossfire and via HDMI for A & V to my TV and my TV is connected to the surround sound receiver via Optical.
In my previous OS it showed all these settings no problem, but everything I tried from drivers, software, codecs so far has lead me on a dead end.
I did have catalyst drivers 13.10 beta before and that is the only difference, but I'm not sure if 13.11 broke the Audio or something I dont have installed that I had before.
