Hi guys,

Trying to fix a relatively new computer with a Radeon HD 7500 card in it (not a gamer).  Since the update to Windows 8.1, I'm unable to install Catalyst.  Without it, I've got a flickering monitor, due to the need for the 'Reduce DVI frequency' setting.

It's an older monitor that needs to be replaced, but in the meantime, I'd like to find a solution for this.  Everytime I run the beta Catalyst software, it says it installs, but the ATI Technology folder ends up empty (no errors during install).

Any suggestions on a solution?  Thanks folks!

-Mike

The Radeon HD7500 was strictly an OEM-based product.  AMD's Catalyst Drivers will not work.  Please obtain the driver for the system manufacturer.

Unfortuantely, this means that if the system manufacturer does not offer a Windows 8.1 driver you're stuck.  By not providing the driver, I would suggest the system manufacturer is saying one of two things:

  1. They just haven't provided a driver update yet
  2. They are not supporting your system on Windows 8.1

Both of the above can be confirmed by contacting the system builder.
