Weird. When I contacted them they were very cooperative. I was writing with the support team for Germany though. So I guess we didn't write to the same people.

Goddamnit. This issue was fixed for me with the sapphire vbios update... until I upgraded my monitor from a 60hz to a 120hz panel. Now the exact same issue is happening again (albeit its happening very rarely now and I can no longer easily reproduce by just browsing around in firefox for a few mins). And no I'm not using dual monitors, I'm aware of windows' issues with multi-monitors that have different refresh rates, and I'm only using the 120hz panel.

It would be nice if AMD could fix this in the damn driver...

I also own the r9 280x toxic and am experiencing a lot of flickering. It would be amazing if you could upload the vbios. Thanks in advance man, this is hell

Sad to say this, but welcome to the club :/ flashing my vBIOS (sent by Sapphire) on Sapphire R9 280x didn't solve the issue either. Whereas, for most of the people here the issue seems to have been solved. I wonder what is going on with this.

I hate to post, but this screen flickering/jumping every few minutes is happening with me as well while using Firefox.

I have a Sapphire R9 280X Dual-X card with the latest signed drivers.

Reading something about a BIOS update, but you'll forgive me if I don't pour through the entire thread page-by-page.  Anyone know where this update is available from and/or if it's safe to use on cards of different vendors?

you can disable hardware acceleration in firefox, but sadly that means your browsing will be less smooth.

Hi

I purchased a Sapphire R9 280x Toxic and have screen flickering while browsing.

I see that it's a known problem and am waiting for drivers however the flickering seems to be getting worse (longer, bigger glitches) and am getting worried that this has a lasting effect on the card/GPU.

Should I return this card ASAP/switch back to my old one ?

All of them

I think the new bios that fix the problem is cutting off performance.

this is why they don't publish it

I managed to decrease the flickering occurence by increasing the 2D clocks from default 300MHz Core / 150MHz Mem to 400MHz core and 250MHz mem. It still flickers from time to time, but at least is less annoying.

AMD, where's the new driver to fix this?

What I have been doing is just "Enable Overdrive" with 300MHz Core and 150MHz Mem. By forcing it (without increasing clocks) flickering stops completely. However, we definitely NEED AMD to bring out a new driver to fix the issue :/

I have this problem too, can you tell what tool did you use to do this? With amd catalyst control center?
