Ive had the same laptop for the last three years now, and with it the same graphics card: the AMD Radeon HD 5700. Games are starting to look better and i'm running more and more games on medium as time goes by. My question is are there newer cards that would be compatible with this set up and if so which series? What factors should i consider when looking into this and how can i be sure that i can even change the card in my notebook? I would like to be able to keep this notebook but is that an option or will i simply need to buy a new computer for a better setup?

Unless you bought a laptop that supports MXM3.0B cards. You are out of luck. There is no such thing as "upgrading a laptop" with a meaningful performance enhancing items besides an SSD.

If your laptop is an alienware , or Sager, Select few MSI/ Asus laptops. There is no upgrading your mobility card.
