I'm having trouble playing movies from my PC onto my TV, via either of the two mini displayports on my VTX3D R9 280X.
The cable is a new Mini displayport to HDMI cable. HDMI into any of the four my Sony Bravia KDL-40W5810 HDMI ports (tried all four).
As I understand it, this graphics card should send audio via the mini-dp ports. If someone could confirm that alone, that would be a relief.
Monitor is using the HDMI port, so I thought the mini-dp would be ideal for playing movies on my TV.
I'm on Win 7 64-bit. I see the TV in the device manager as a Generic Plug and Play. In Sound, I don't see any playback device there relating to the TV, so can't set it as default.
When I plug the cable in, I get that "An HDMI-to-DVI display connection has been detected", which isn't correct, but perhaps it's telling me something is wrong, what though, I can't figure out.
When installing afresh the latest Catalyst, I have made sure HDMI Audio Driver is ticked. Did uninstall it once to try but no joy, so reinstalled it back in.
Any pointed, much appreciated.
