I am having the same problem. Because of the lack of help I am beginning to wonder if I have a broken gfx card.

Installed a 1000w power supply which i thought had sorted the problem. Lasted longer without a freeze but still getting them.

hi,

still having black screen issues,

the 9.4 version resolved the issue with black screen on game startup, but

even with 9.5 it still likes to randomly freeze, most of the time after a complete shutdown and restart it works fine

card is the powercolors 290x oc version

regards

Hi guys,

I would recommend you to download and instal the MSI Afterburner app. Configure a fan profile in witch the fan will run at 70%  when the card hits 70 degrees.

This did the job for a lot of people ou there. It's easy to do... but you'll have to bear with the sound.

Okay, think I am making some headway. I went as far as reinstalling the chipset drivers (again), but this time I went as far as reinstalling the bios too, which now I dont get a total freeze, Now I still have input from mouse and sometimes keyboard.

Oh yeah, I have a M4A88TD_V evo usb mobo and I reinstalled origonal chipset drivers and not the latest. Also lasted almost 12hrs without problems.

After hours of testing I was still getting screen freezes. I installed a new mobo and since have had days of endless fun without any problems.
