i have a recently built computer and a msi R7 260x i bought at launch, and i have been gaming alot, mainly on my monitor. currently i am using an ASUS 27" 1920 x 1080 monitor using standard dvi and i can play games flawlessly(45-60 fps) on high/very high including arkham origins, BF4, and bioshock infinite. when i try to play on my tv (55" vizio @1080p) through hdmi w/ sound i get about 4 fps, and on lowest settings i get about 9 fps. including lower graphical demanding games like lego lotr, batman aa, mortal kombat or even Left 4 dead, i get about 14 fps on low setting@ 1280x768.
currently i have the latest drivers as of 11/17/13 amd catalyst 13.11 beta 9.2. my pc specs are:
Windows 8.1 64bit
120GB ssd boot drive, 1TB 7200 rpm 64mb cache gaming drive, 3TB 5200 rpm storage drive.
8GB DDR3 1600 memory
3.8 GHz quad core (amd fx4300 black edition)
msi R7 260x
msi 970a-g46 mobo with latest bios
some optical drives, some fans, etc...
the only setting in CCC i change from default is when on my tv i change it to 0% overscan.
is the framerate dropping w/ hdmi just a thing thats happening or is there a way to fix this?anyone having a similar problem?
i have tried multiple hdmi cords and this problem does not exsist with my laptop, other desktop or ps3 and wii u
on a side note, i just remembered my old gateway dx4870 /w msi radeon hd 6670 was able to play games nicely through hdmi but i could not install the hdmi audio drivers and it was not detecting any audio out through hdmi. that was probly from a virus, because it is a family computer.
