So I have just bought the new Sapphire AMD Radeon R9 270X Vapour-X OC edition, to upgrade from an AMD Radeon 4890HD which was starting to cause crashes.

I wiped all previous drivers, installed new card, installed the latest drivers I had which were Catalyst 13.11 beta 9.2...yet it refuses to work correctly.

Apparently the driver isnt Windows Display Driver Model (WDDM) compliant so for starters wont support Windows Aero theme.
Catalyst Control Center will not start up, as it says theres nothing for it to configure.
AMD Driver Autodetect says that it was unable to find my product or OS.
My Windows Experience score has dropped from 5.9 to 1.9 for graphics, and 1.0 for gaming graphics!

GPU-Z says its running, but that its actually running Catalyst 13.9 with file 9.0.100.0 and no matter how often I run a later update, it wont change.

Im at a loss now at what to do to get it fully running, unless I try installing a much earlier version of Catalyst (I think I had 13.4 running with my old card?) but even then, I think I read somewhere the 270X's arent supported before 13.9?

Anyway my system specs are the following:

AMD R9 270X 2gb GPU
Seem to be running Catalyst 13.9 with driver 9.0.100.0
MS Vista Ultimate 64bit
Motherboard Gigabyte X58A-UD5 with FE firmware
1000W psu
i7 950 3.06Ghz
24Gb RAM

Thats what worked for me..however, after posting I did come across a small issue.

I now get a dll error when trying to open a game (Rome 2 Total war in this case) saying that load library cannot be loaded etc. Tried all the 'fix' solutions online but nothings worked. Apparently it may be down to how the driver was gotten working and knocked things out of whack. So far thats the only game that ive not been able to run since just to be warned.
