Since 2 month, i've noticed this weird problem with the games that are using the potential of my graphic card (Radeon HD 6900).

I was playing a game (Path of Exile) for 2 weeks and everything was working perfectly. And one day i tried to play and everything was on slowmotion.... frame rate still good but my character and the one of the other player are in slow motion 10% of the game speed. When i click on an enemy, the damage are done immediatly so it's not a lag or that my computer isn't strong enough. Seems like an sync problem between my computer and the graphic card.
Same thing with almost all my games (Deponia, Diablo, Civilization V)

I was able to play deponia this week during one evening. The next day, it was on slow motion, did not change anything on the computer...
i've checked online for some support and people tried a complete reinstall of windows, drivers (tried it), and so on without fixing the problem. Sometime some people said after rebooting the computer, it fixed the problem for a day or two but didn't work for me.

I've seen that some people were experimenting this problem while they were overclocking their computer(not my case but can be usefull to say). it causes unsync between computer and graphic card. which i think is the problem.

Do you have any idea what can fix the problem?

sorry tried my best to be clear but english isn't my first language

Thank you in advance
Tartuffe

Hello Tartuffe,

sounds like my own story. Around two weeks of PoE without any problems, then the slow motion bug appeared. Frame rates are still very good. Other games are also affected.

Checked the forums and tried lots of things (driver updates, .net-update, graphic settings changes, heat problem checks), but couldn't find a permanent solution.

Every third or forth reboot fixes the problem temporarily - but with the next reboot, it is back.

Maybe PoE did something terrible to our computers...

AMD Six-CORE 3.30 GHz
8 GB
Windows 7 Home Premium
64 bit
AMD Radeon HD 6900
Direct X 11
Using PoE via Steam

Hi,
Finally got something by myself.
Got no help on this in this forum, i had to ask a cousin who understand computer better than I.
From what I understand, it may be caused by Windows 7

You just have to do this

search for cmd and open it as administrator (type cmd in search and right click on it)
now type exactly like this:

bcdedit /set {default} useplatformclock true

OR

bcdedit /set useplatformclock true

(can't remember which one is the good one but i'm pretty sure it is the first one)

You should have a message saying that it is completed.
Just restart your computer and play
Have fun

Tartuffe
