Hi, I cant get my 7990 sapphire to run at full capacity - 99%. The card starts at 100 and falls back to 64 or at best it would fluctuate 64-100... I am powering it with 1200W Corsair psu, catalyst 13.11.9.5 beta, Windows7x64. Same issue in Linux... Disabled the ULPS, no effect. How can I get it fixed?

The card keeps automatically downclocking itself to 500 mhz core, no matter what.

Thanks alot

In what game? Using what processor? On what motherboard? At what resolution? With what details? Running full screen? (quote and answer those questions).

That's a very weak processor...Celeron.

alright i think the gpu starts doing this when it reaches 75C+ any way to increase that threshold?

daimyo, like stumped says, that Celeron is a very weak processor for that powerful GPU.

Having that 7990 at 64% or less, indicates that you're CPU bounded.. Limited.. You'll have a condition called "bottleneck", where a piece limits the performance of the rest of a whole..

For that kind of power, you'll need, at least, an Intel i5 series or a FX 8000 series..

The only thing for you to do to increase the performance, is to change your CPU for a more powerful one..

Be aware: that card not only draws a lot of energy, it also generates a lot of heat when it's at its full capacity. I hope you've a very nice airflow in your case..

Best regards..

I am using the rig for mining litecoins. THe cpu peaks at 10%. THe bottleneck is hidden elsewhere

It doesn't matter if you are not using the CPU to mine. In car terms you are using a twin turbo supercharged v12 in a family van, that bottleneck will not go away unless you upgrade.

Not quite right zipsi, more like using a twin turbo V12 in a car with a 3 speed gearbox. You can stick a large engine in a van and it goes like the dickens (look up the youtube clip of Top Gear UK when Richard drives a Ford Transit which has been secretly upgraded to a Jaguar twin turbo V8).

thats crock of c***.

New ISSUE. Both cards can run a single core with no problems. When I turn on both cores simultaniously the screen goes black. PC doesnt retart it just hangs!!!! OMG

In games those analogies are true. In mining, they're false.

With LTC mining, check what intensity setting it's configured to (If in cgminer, press G, then I to change intensity, and raise the value). Your GPUs won't be getting seriously stressed until level 14 or 15.

Thats correct. Higher intensities stresses the card and gets it to work at full load. For a couple of seconds at least before the computer freezes and one of the cores says its 511C hot... I just cant say it other way. You dont get what you paid for.
