I have been looking for the standard AMD radeon r9 270x graphics card but all i can find is sapphire versions, asus versions, xfx and gigabyte versions. i would like to know where i could find an original r9 270x without the extra branding. does anybody know? also what is the difference between the original version and all of the other adaptations of this graphics card?

AMD only manufactures FirePro video cards themselves, all Radeon cards are manufactured through the board partners such as Sapphire and XFX. For the first run all board partners release "reference versions" which are directly from AMD's requirements. Shortly after they release their own custom versions with improved cooling and better components, and usually with slightly higher clocks. Unless you are watercooling, you do not want a reference version.

AMD hasn't manufactured any Radeon cards themselves except for engineering samples for years. I prefer Sapphire but XFX is another good brand.
