Hello all!  Before posting I looked around for information regarding this topic but I cannot seem to find anything.  I wasn't exactly sure where to post it either but I figured this was the best spot.  My question is simple and in a couple of parts.  I recently purchased an AMD r9 290x graphics card.  The graphics card supposedly supports bandwith of up to PCI e 3.0.  My questions are as follows: If AMD makes graphics cards supporting 3.0, why don't they make motherboards/processors that support 3.0 as well?  Also, what is an estimated timeframe that AMD will release a mobo with 3.0 support? Lastly, is it worth it to buy a new mobo that's 2.0 or should you just wait for 3.0?  Also, will 2.0 throttle my graphics card and be a throttle issue for the next couple of years?

Thanks!!

Because AMD has not released an actual new chipset since PCIe 3.0 has been finalized, something which they will do with the next socket possibly this year if not early next year. But with the possible exception of dual R9 295x2s, no setup running at x16/x16 2.0 will bottleneck a graphics setup.

with PCIe 3.0 speeds, who cares if the slots are x8

reality is that even old 2-way boards do not bottleneck for PCI Express

lanes mattered more when speeds were slower

i would like 7 slots, all x8 with fredom to plug in whatever
