I think I'll give it a go Saturday, when I'll have enough time to fix things if it crashes and burns.

Doesn't anybody use system restore anymore?

I have had issues lately with Catalyst drivers that have eaten machine to the point of system restore being no use. And given that 14.6 are beta drivers I assume the worst. I would rather be more prepared than I need to be than not prepared enough.

Yeah, I was disappointed. I am getting the feeling that I am going to return my cards for a pair of Asus 290Xs. I have a friend going to test the U28D590D on a test rig with Asus cards and let me know if it's a Sapphire issue or more widespread issue (if it works with those cards I know that Sapphire are at fault). I have also ordered a certified 1.2 cable just in case Samsung cheaped out and inculuded a 1.1 DP cable in the monitor box, though I would have thought that would have resulted in outright failure.

EDIT: Just got a new DisplayPort cable in the mail. Tried it, same issue.

I'm having the same issue, I only recently bought a Samsung U28D590D to replace an old 1080p display that was failing. I still have one 1080p display that I use along side the new one, and I never had the issue with the two 1080p displays.

I tried using only the new display and still this problem persists, anyone found a solution?

Specs:

CPU: AMD Phenom II x6 1090T

GPU: PowerColor R9 290X 4GB OC(BF4 Edition)

PSU: Corsair RM-850

OS: Windows 8.1 64-bit

Driver: Catalyst 14.4 (tried 14.6, no better)

So...my problem seems to have gone away. Entirely. I didn't do anything at all. 14.4 drivers.

Only thing I can think of is a windows update. But i looked through it and they seemed unrelated..
I mean I'm glad it's gone, but just hope it doesnt come back

I RMA'd my card. The new ASUS jobbie is working well as a master. I just wasn't waiting any longer for Sapphire to respond and they weren't sounding like they even acknowledged the fault.

I'm having the exact same issue as you gents: Samsung 4K monitor & crossfired R9 290s. Mine are XFX double dissipation cards.

Tried the 14.4 & 14.6 drivers, new power supply (silverstone 1000W), each card by itself, new DP cable, no help. Some times it happens just in Windows, most of the time it's in 3D games. It's so frustrating as when it's not happening the games are silky smooth & beautiful!

Tried cleaning & reinstalling the drivers, a fresh install of Windows 8.1, no help. I don't know if 2 cards can both be faulty or whether I'll just have to try a different card all together!

So the problem has not gone away. Just hard to figure it out since it's intermittent.

I have 4 cards, and isolated them all. The issue happens on all the cards. So I don't think RMA-ing it will help at all..
