I recently got a new pc and in it a brand new Saphire R9 270x graphics card.

When I open Minecraft I can play for a few minutes, but after that I get a visual bug (checkered pattern shows up randomly on screen) and soon after drivers and Minecraft.exe crash.

The same bug appeared while watching a video on youtube.

Here's the list of things I tried:

-Updating card drivers

-Tried out latest Beta driver and 13.9 and 13.4 driver

-Tried installing other versions of Java (currently running Java 7 update 55 x64, tried Java 7 update 21 x64 and Java 8 update 8 x64)

-Combining diffrent versions of Java with diffrent versions of drivers

-Testing with other games (Team fortress 2, Crysis 2, Dead island - all of them worked perfectly)

-Testing the card in friends PC - Minecraft also crashed, but Battlefield 4 ran with no problems on 120 FPS

-Running Minecraft in compatibility mode

Any ideas? Maybe Minecraft and this card just aren't meant to go together, but it can be fixed in future driver update? Thanks for reading

Just in case someone finds this topic and has the same or similar problem, I solved it.

It turns out the card had an error and I called it in and had it replaced with a new one.

Everything seems to be fine now.
