I currently have a 3GB AMD Radeon HD 7970.  It is hooked up via HDMI to an Insignia NS-46E481A13 120Hz HDTV.  The PC runs Windows 7 Ultimate, SP1 on an Intel i7 3770K processor, with 32 GB of DDR3 RAM.  I can provide more specs if necessary.  I have not overclocked any hardware on this PC.

Currently the PC runs at 1920x1080 60Hz.  I was wondering if I could get my video card to run a 120Hz refresh rate with this display.  If it cannot be done with this display, what kinds of displays should I look at?

No televisions accept input signals beyond 60Hz.  Those sold as 120Hz or higher still only accept 60 frames per second input.  They do image processing on those frames to interpolate 120 or more frames per second of output, mostly to provide smooth motion.

What you want is a non-television (non-3D) monitor with a 120Hz or higher refresh rate.
