So i bought a used ATI Radeon HD 7850 2GB GDDR5 from ebay. I was using a 260 gtx. I installed it into my pc plugged in the hdmi cable and pc and my monitor started just fine but when i look in device manager im not seeing the card all i see is standard vga graphics adapter. When i go to the raedon webside for drivers and auto detect it tells me it cant find a proper graphics adaptor.

First off, completely uninstall the nVidia Drivers for the GTX 260 before doing ANYTHING ELSE.

Search for the graphics drivers manually -- I find the Auto-Detect can be problematic sometimes.

  1. Drivers + Support >> Drivers + Download Center
  2. Select the type of system you have >> Desktop Graphics
  3. Select the product family your product belongs to >> Radeon HD Series
  4. Select your product >> Radeon HD 7xxx Series PCIe
  5. Select the supported operating system that you have>> *Whatever Operating System you are using for your computer*
  6. Download the latest NON-BETA Catalyst Software Suite (currently version 14.4 dated 4/24/2014)
