I built a new PC using Windows XP Pro as the OS just for working on FS9 projects. For some mysterious reason I can't seem to smooth out the jaggies on the image edges with the XFX Radeon 6950 2GB Double Dissipation graphics card, the latest AMD drivers and the latest AMD Catalyst Control Center (CCC). Everything installs properly and everything but the 3D settings in CCC seem to work fine. I have tried all kinds of combinations of the 3D settings in CCC and nothing seems to have any effect on the jaggies.
At first blush this seems very similar to the jaggies problem with NVIDIA cards and for which there is a workaround. The difference is that the AMD CCC 3D settings have an "override applications settings" option which I am using.
Has anyone else experienced this problem and if so have you found an appropriate workaround for it?
Mike
Edit: I just tried full screen mode and all the jaggies disappeared. I've never seen this before on my previous PC's, but apparently the 3D settings in AMD CCC now only work for full screen view in FS9.
