AMD Catalyst Driver Version, and Driver History
12.8 causing slow down, Default WDDM drivers have no issues

Windows 8 Pro RTM

CPU Details

AMD Phenom II x4 955 

Display Device(s) and Connection(s) Used
Samsung Sync Master 226BW

Motherboard or System Make & Model
Gigabyte GX-MA-790XT-UDP4

Issue Details

Desktop games (such as Civ 5) work fine.  It is only games that are downloaded via Windows Store (such as Minesweeper) that are experinceing slowdowns and looseing sound. Anyone else expeirnceing same issue?

Try changing from hardware rendering to software. IE tools>internet options>advanced (or whatever in Win8) or you could try these drivers http://benchmark3d.com/amd-catalyst-9-00-august-9-ccc-fix ...Win8 users are having good luck with them.
