This is strictly a DDO problem.  No other game affects my machine in this way. Dungeons are dark, so I believe my brightness/gamma are tuned a bit higher for DDO than any other game.  The issue is this.  Whenever I load up DDO, my entire computer takes on the DDO graphics settings, which is an uncomfortable 'bleached' quality anywhere but inside DDO.  Mozilla, for example, is so bleached out it's almost impossible to read anything, and shades of yellow are almost indistinguishable from white.  Civilzation V becomes unpleasant, Skyrim is crap, and so on....until a reboot.

I typically play DDO with graphics on high and really high with no issue whatsoever, it's simply that in game graphics affect the entire computer until reboot.  This same issue occurred on a laptop with an nVidia card...again, just with DDO, so it appears to be a prevalent DDO issue.

Suggestions for a fix?

It's not old drivers.
