Hello,

I bought an AMD Radeon HD 7950 (latest driver installed) and the only available resolution for Sims 2 (all expansion packs and with latest patch) is 800x600. I can't change it in the game options menu. Contrary to that, the Sims 3 works perfectly fine in 1920x1080 on the Radeon 7950. When I unplug the graphic board and play with onboard graphics then I can choose higher resolutions for The Sims 2.

So is there any possibility to play the Sims 2 in a higher resolution with the AMD Radeon HD 7950?

computer specs:

Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1 x64

Mainbord MSI MS-7758

Intel(R) Core(TM) i5

RAM 16,0 GB

Hi, thank you so much!

I had to change all entries with “forceLowSettings” and “forceLowResolution” in the “Graphics Rules.sgr” to false. I also changed all entries with “uintProp maxResWidth”, “uintProp defaultResWidth” to 1920 and “uintProp maxResHeight”, “uintProp defaultResHeight” to 1080.

Now Sims 2 works in 1920x1080 perfectly fine and on the highest possible graphic settings, even with anti aliasing, what I couldn't enable before.
