I posted in the game section but later thought that this section might of been more appropriate.  I was wondering if anyone has found a fix for this problem.  Ive noticed most people have it with nvidia 6xx series cards but there is a small group experiencing it with amd 7xxx cards.

System Specs
MSI 990XA-GD55
AMD Phenom II 3.4
HIS IceQ 7870
Encore ENM232-8VIA (Sound Card) onboard audio disabled
I believe 650w PSU

Im experiencing the same problem most are with a complete PC lockup at random times. Most of the time its during a map change. I can ctrl alt del and close the game but it wont open back up and nothing else seems to work ie. Firefox so i restart and it gets stuck at "Logging off" forcing me to manually restart. I have attempted many "fixes" those include installing latest drivers and BIOS. Deleted cache, reinstall game + windows, install directx9 since i read that though win 7 comes with 11 sometimes files are missing for 9. I bought a new sound card because i heard that it was a realtek / PB issue. Still nothing .. im baffled, any ideas?  Or does anyone know if amd will release an update addressing the problem?

Well I sent back the 7870 for a replacement thinking that was the problem.  Put my 2 X 6790s back in and it still froze with sound loop ... please help!
