Hello,

Ok so I’ve been having problems with all the games that I play occasionally freezing then going to a black screen for about 5 – 10 seconds then they come back onto the game, this happens on all the games that I play, but some such as Skyrim, FarCry3 will not go back to the game after the black screen but rather crash to the desktop.

Because of this I know it’s not the games, Counter Strike GO will freeze when I have 120ish FPS and FarCry3 when I have about 40ish etc.

(when it freezes i can hear the sound looping if that helps)

This problem has persisted through multiple driver updates and beta drivers, I was thinking it could be something is the catalyst settings that is messing with the games, but I have no idea where to start because I’ve never used it.

Or dust on the card perhaps I haven’t opened my computer in ages lol.

Don't just laugh about it - Examine the fan filters, and cooling fins on both the gpu and cpu, and clean the dust. What temperatures are you getting on the gpu and cpu ?

Its usually because of dusty cpu/gpu cooler, things get overheated and stop working as they are supposed to.

You need to set yourself up on a schedule. Mine I wash out my case filters every couple of weeks, every couple of months I take my fans off my radiator and give it a good vacuuming out, twice a year I take my graphics card outside and blow it out (usually the last and first cool days of the year), once a year I take my whole tower outside and use a whole duster can to get it spic and span, fan blades clean, power supply clean, everything. Takes forever but it's worth it. Then once every two years I take my GPU apart and put on new TIM and give the heatsink a good cleaning.
