I am trying to get AOE2 to work on my PC but so far have gotten nowhere.

Computer specs:- Intel i5-2500K @ 3.30ghz

                          4gb ram

                          running 32 bit Win 7

                          graphics Radeon HD7800

I have tried everything I could find online eg :-

turning off explorer before starting game (done both manually and by batch file

changing screen res

having screen res page open when starting game

and a few others but nothing works. I understand that the problem stems from the fact the game supports a res that Win7 no longer uses so I am posting here with the hope that someone out there has had this prolem too and has found a work around

Cheers

If you're having resolution problems try starting the game with a command line switch. Either -800 -1024- or -1280. There is also a userpatch for age of empires II that lets you start the game in windowed mode. You can find it here: http://userpatch.aiscripters.net/
