I started playing LOTRO again last week, and I noticed that it's not letting me select DirectX 10 or 11 in the graphics menu. The problem is that it used to work - but I'm not sure what caused it. I've only done two things that shouldn't have caused it - I updated my drivers, and I also upgraded from my old Phenom II 965 to a Core i5.

I've tried all of the fixes that got suggested by other users: setting the DisplayDriver value in the preferences file to 1, made sure I'm not running any files in compatibility mode, trying older drivers, etc. It still won't work. Anybody have any more suggestions? Or am I just getting punished for switching to an Intel processor?

Edit: should probably add some more details.
OS - Win 7 64 bit
CPU - i5 4670k, not overclocked
GPU - Radeon HD 6950 (Sapphire 100312SR 2 GB)
8 GB RAM
Motherboard - ASRock Z87M Extreme4, BIOS version 1.90

So I just fixed this - apparently I was missing some of the end-user-runtimes? This is what I had to download: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35

If you read this and were about ready to give me an answer, thanks!
