Hi, I hope someone can help.

Yesterday I was all well and thought iI'd install the 14.6 AMD catalyst/display driver. The primary reason for this was for the benefits highlighted re. Wildstar performance. Upon completion of the installation,  I was greeted by a blue screen error. When the system restarted, I have no response from any peripheral device; such as my mouse and keyboard.

I have tried restarting but nothing has helped and I have also noticed my CD/DVD Rom drive isn't opening, as if it isn't found.

Any advice on how to resolve this, baring in mind I can't input via keyboard and mouse?

Hello.

Please give as much feedback as possible:

Have you tried unplugging and plugging again ?

Also, reinstall AMD Chipset drivers if you have that.

Uncheck "USB Filter Driver" and SATA driver on installation.

The problem is, without cd rom drive access and no functioning from input devices, I cannot get access to the AMD chipset drivers.

I'm running windows 7 x64

AMD RADEON Triple 290 4gb graphics csrd

Tried installing 14.6 drivers, previous functionality through 14.4.

All windows updates up to date

AMD Phenom II x6 3.2ghz

16gb GDDR5 Ram

Everything was fine until the installation of the 14.6 display driver was finished and then a blue screen error resulted in a restart and the presented issues.

Boot into safe mode.

Go to device manager.

I had this happen to me once, it installed some weird USB driver I haven't seen it do since...

I uninstalled, did a cleaning & did a fresh install, fixed the issue as the "USB driver" never tried to install again... dunno what that was all about.

I can only imagine a wrong usb controller driver would have that effect, but a PS/2 connection should not be affected.

If there is one, it doesn't hurt to try.

Safest way is to boot in safe mode and uninstall all the usb controllers and devices.

Upon reboot in windows, everything will reinstall with default windows drivers and all should work well.

Try it WarNoob14.
